Year 2: Week of February 24th

Towards the end of last week most of the video was finished as after the real life footage it was simply a matter of cutting together and animating the .png images of my shirts into a fast paced viral. There are a few things I’m not happy with to do with the viral and I may go back to it at a later date to add the finishing touches, other than that, it’s time to move on to the next brief. Next week I’m setting the target of catching up with much of the Professional Practice that I’m behind on and will hopefully be up to date in around 2 weeks time. I’m also planning to move on with the competition brief and develop an extensive body of work, especially before the upcoming trip and I will finish the log of the video in my sketch book.

Year 2: Week of February 17th

Last week I strayed somewhat from the original layout of my storyboards and filmed a selection of different shots, completely off topic to the original. As the week progressed I cut the clips into a face paced sequence that was to be played to the build up of the song as mentioned in the last post. Also looked slightly into competition briefs and made a few initial sketches and designs associated with my chosen brief (Yorkshire Tea) however it wasnt very extensive so I need to put more time into that over the next coming weeks before the Berlin trip. Over this week I plan to spend most of my time cutting the .png images together and animating typography in the composition. There is still a lot of work to do and many things may need to be tweaked or changed to ensure the overall product is high quality.

Year 2: Week of February 10th

Last week I managed to complete the first 6 seconds of my viral, doesnt sound like much, but there was a lot of intensive work that went into it, some occurred at home, namely a loading bar type intro. Whilst on site, I created a sort of old TV “Please Stand By” screen in illustrator and adapted it to suit my brand. To incorporate this into my video I used several effects that I have detailed in my sketch book, I need to look into starting a Log of how my video is being produced and explain in detail what is happening and how achieved a certain aesthetic or effect. However I feel this may be something better done after the video is completed, maybe a mixture of both can be used? Next week I plan to film some footage which will serve as a sped up secondary intro while the song is building to the drop, it is noted on my storyboard. As for other work, still no headway has been made, completing the viral is my sole concern at this time as it is the most time consuming.

Year 2: Week of February 3rd

Managed to edit all but one or two of the photos last week, including cropping and enhancements. Was unable to start on the editing, but aim to start over this weekend to give me a head start. Could stick to my time frames more rather than spending time fixated on one task and work simultaneously on several tasks such as the upcoming competition brief. Over the next week i plan to have around the first 10 seconds completed of my viral.

Year 2: Week of January 27th

Following this weeks creating of storyboards and looking into other digital effects that I can include in my viral, next week I plan to edit the photos that I will be using and save them as .png so that there is no background, this way they can be used in my video is planned in the storyboards, if this is completed sooner then, I will make a start on the creation of the video. Other projects have been put on hold.

Year 2: Week of January 20th

After a long break for the Christmas Holidays, I aim to pick up from where I left off and continue with the T-shirt project as my primary focus. Over the break I took a selection of photos of my sister modelling the T-Shirts and over the next few weeks I plan to start creating my viral, as opposed to a catalogue. This week I will do some background research and start producing storyboards and basic ideas on how to structure my viral.

Week 2

Out of the aims I set out last week I didn’t really complete many as I didn’t account for the actual synopsis writing of our changed plays, so most time this week was spent writing the synopsis and researching about the era and some play covers. Next week I plan to look into different fonts that I could use specific to my era and attempt to move onto the initial ideas stage.

Week 1

Over the break I decided upon Twelfth Night as my chosen play, next week I plan to begin work on some initial ideas for program covers, I will do so through sketches and researching existing covers both for my play and other plays, so as to get an idea of the style and aesthetic that is needed/desired in the industry. For the drawing module I plan do do a few sketches through different methods such as wrong hand, and not looking at the paper.
